Objective:

Seeking an entry level position requiring competent communication skills and interaction both in Japanese and English in an office environment. Position should require a variety of challenging tasks, which would best utilize my experience obtained through my studies abroad, as well as my Economics background.

Experience

Aug 2001    Sony Corporation  (Business Master Program)          

 

Global AD Section, Communication Strategy Department, Global Hub

 

  • Contemplated and presented my own conception for ADTV, a broadband website which is currently being constructed by Sony.
  • Created Sony Ad-Media Spending Report, which required researching the ad-media spending costs and the characteristics of numerous worldwide advertising companies.
  • Participated in meetings for several sections in Communication Strategy Department, Sony Marketing, and was also given the opportunity to attend a convention for Sonys latest products.

Treasury Section (Internship)

  • Dealt in foreign currency exchange daily.
  • Traded stocks daily.
  • Researched and conducted economic analysis of 7

    companies including 5 major oil companies, Sony and Toyota.  Reported the result as a presentation.

  • Visited Citibank, Barcleys bank, Shinsei bank, and was given lectures on world economy, Japanese economy, and role of banks in the economy as a whole.

·        Worked as a research assistant for Dr. Quay (currently a professor at International Christian University in Tokyo, Japan) at UBC in 2001.

Planned and prepared for a project regarding language development in

children.  Searched for, photocopied and organized articles.
